Scaling the Shard
I hopped on the train this morning (I once had to actually hop off the train when I lost a Birkenstock mule underneath it,when stepping on... but that has nothing to do with this write-up!) to London Bridge to try to get a few photos of the six Greenpeace activists attempting to climb the Shard, as a protest against oil and gas drilling in the Arctic.
It was a little tricky keeping the camera still, as I stood on Platform 6 on London Bridge station...this extremely brave pair were half way up.
I had a coffee by the river on the South Bank, then came home, had a quick look on here and, inspired by davesfotos gorgeous pink roses blip, I decided to walk up to the rose gardens in Greenwich Park to sit and read amongst the roses in the sunshine. Hopefully no one heard me say 'hello!' to a bee that came right up to my face, then flew off...it obviously thought I looked more like a wilting old weed in the heat, rather than a beautiful English rose.
