2024 Thursday — Cayucos Parade

Happy 248th Birthday America!

The Cayucos July 4th Parade honored America’s flag and was definitely patriotic. The population of this town increased from 3,102 to 30,000+ for the parade, and many people stayed all day at the beach until the 9:00 p.m. fireworks began.

The parade is always a homespun, funky, one-horse town parade with roller skaters and dancers and so much fun. The people laugh, cheer, hoop & holler, shed a tear or two, wish for a marching band, and most of all, they celebrate America!

This is so much fun. We had friends, Becky & Steve, from Arizona here to watch and celebrate with us. They have their rig parked at an RV park in Morro Bay and will be here for a total of 14 days.
