Kunoy, Faroe Isles
We opted for a coach tour of the Northern Isles of the Faroes. Leaving our ship tied up at Runavik (third largest town of the Faroes) on the island of Eysteroy, we visited two other islands without crossing any water. Instead we travelled from island to island via undersea tunnels. My blip shows a turf roofed house in the village of Kunoy on the island of the same name. There were a few small patches of snow still lingering on the higher slopes of this hillside.
We were very impressed by the infrastructure of the Faroes: excellent roads with tunnels linking islands and the power supply moving rapidly towards water and wind renewable, aiming to be100% by 2030.
