Aperture on Life

By SheenaghMclaren

Red Sky at Night.

11.15pm and there is still light, although the days are shortening all too quickly.  I took other photos this afternoon but decided on this, with the crescent moon shining over the Montrose bridge.

The Port is strangely empty.  Very few private boats have permission to sail up the river. It deals almost exclusively with cargo ships and vessels that serve the wind farms offshore.

I had taken the dog for a walk at lunchtime. There were seals on the sandbank in the basin, but too far off to get a good shot. However, I got shots of a Curlew, picking crabs out of the water and under rocks. The tide was rushing in fast so it had to work quickly.  It's so satisfying when I capture the moment of a catch. Today I also snaped it as it tossed the morsel into its beak.
Possibly better pics than the view from where I live, but, I had promised not to do all birds.
Species no 2 in my extras.
