Loosestrife

I nipped up the rig early-ish, in order to avoid the predicted rain (and they were right, for once). Birds too skittish to provide a photo so I tried some slower moving flowers. Very happy with this clump of Lysmachia which planted itself in the 'wildflower area' some years back. Come to think of it, the cotoneaster in the background was self seeded too.

Went to buy some onions in Aldi but I paused when I noticed that the brown onions all seemed to have come from New Zealand. Closest to home were some red onions from Egypt, which I had to settle for. Those Brexit benefits just keep coming, eh?

I find loosestrife a fascinating name!
