Rackets of famous players

A busy day as a friend is visiting. I took her to see Teddington Lock and then we went into the Lensbury Club…..my health club. This has always had very good grass tennis courts when it was the sports centre for Shell employees. Not so long ago many tennis players stayed here just before or during Wimbledon so that they could practise on the courts. ( in the days when each player did not have a huge entourage!) The rooms in the conference centre part has rooms named after players eg Lloyd, Henman etc etc . They also have some photos of players who stayed there eg Borg, Gerulitis, Chrissie and John Lloyd etc! And these rackets are in a big display over the staircase. Note the varying shapes and sizes. Borg’s is the one with the smallest head. McEnroe’s top left.

We also watched both men’s semi- finals from Wimbledon, partly on catch up….both having the expected result but good matches.
