Need of water

Colmar was certainly a nice town.  This is mainly because it is car-free, with many shops and squares with terraces.  The many inhabited stork nests are gone.
Getting back to the route from Colmar was made more difficult because we used an old booklet and the normal provincial road is now a motorway.  But we managed.

The route we use was created by Paul Benjaminse, a Dutch cartographer who has compiled several European routes.  This route leads to Rome, but we won't go that far. We are now close to Basel, the booklet can be stored deep in the bicycle bag.  From Basel we will follow the Swiss national route 3.  Switzerland has an extensive route network.

I'm curious what Basel is like.  Apparently there is a music festival going on this week that Bert would like to see.
