Sprats
A warm day it was not, but an entertaining one it was. I joined the mother, sister and niece on a multi-generational visit to West Midlands Safari Park. We couldn’t remember whether we’d been here as kids, and mother was also unable to verify. But I think it was a first for us all.
We fed pellets to elands and zebras out of the car window and crawled past dozing lions. My sister had prepared a tasty picnic which we munched as we went around the circuit.
Here is Georgia feeding a sprat to the Humboldt penguins, assisted by her ma and grandmother. She was mostly occupied by trying to ensure we would not leave before going on the £1 unicorn arcade ride by the entrance. When she had achieved this, it was definitely her day’s highlight.
Parenting looks like it’s a constant exercise in negotiation and compromise and management of at least 170 half-finished bottles of Robinsons Fruit Shoots.
