Stamina

Our grandparenting experiences are a doddle compared to those of old friends D and L. Their daughter gave birth to twins 5 weeks ago. She and they are now living with D and L temporarily, before moving to the US in the autumn. That's where the babies' Dad lives and works. So it'll be a while before the new parents can settle down together.
I popped in to see them all today. Everyone is ok.... but exhausted. The babies are putting weight on steadily but they were small to start with, and it's tough going.
Today's image gives a faint hint of that: the jumble of feeds, nappy changes, colicky episodes, sleep deprivation.
It'll get better. And they're truly gorgeous little boys. But meanwhile... every ounce of stamina is needed.
