Thistle do...

Rushing to get this blip uploaded as need to finish my online Tesco order and time is running out.  I'm at the coo's tail as usual!

Didn't sleep well last night.  Late to bed after completing the wedding photo book then awake again for almost three hours after only sleeping for an hour and a half!  Just as I  was contemplating getting up, my eyes got heavy so I lay down again and fell into a deep sleep till almost 11am!  Feel so much better for it.

The afternoon was spent in my studio prepping slates to be painted on and mounting a couple of recent paintings.  My thistle sketches for Mairi's slate painting that I did the other day have not been bringing me joy, so I scrapped them and started again.  

I put a fair amount of thought into the other sketches but this time I instinctively let my pencil do the work and in 15 minutes I had produced these four sketches plus one more, that I felt gave Mairi a decent choice of composition.  Proof that I need to stop overthinking things!

I sent this photo to her and she narrowed it down to two before deciding on the top right.  I am delighted as that's the one I hoped she would pick and I look forward to creating it using acrylic paint on slate.  I won't get it finished before we go to Wales but hope to at least have the background painted.

After dinner got sidetracked watching the final of the Great British Sewing Bee.  I don't watch it every week but have seen a couple of episodes from this series.  Was very happy to see the Scottish woman had reached the final.  Won't say anything about the winner incase I spoil it for anyone still to watch :-))

Now I really must get this Tesco order finished or I will be ordering fish suppers to feed my pals on Saturday night!!
