Hitching a ride!
Wednesday
R and I both slept in late this morning, after 2 very poor nights sleep. So it was about midday before we picked Bernard up and drove to Tatton Park for the afternoon. We looked round the walled gardens and the formal gardens behind the house, then went back to the courtyard for a bit of lunch and a drink, then continued exploring down the long avenue and the beautiful Japanese garden. (See extras) I’ve also added an extra collage of some of their magnificent dahlias, one of my favourite flowers, and they really had some beauties! The weather today was still quite warm, but with more cloud cover, and we did feel a few spots of rain/ light drizzle at times, but it didn’t come to much! My main photo was actually taken through the car window, as we were leaving the park. When we first saw them, the deer was grazing in the grass, with the magpie perched on his back, then the deer started moving closer to the car, at which point the magpie flew off, and landed on a deers back on the other side of the road! In the evening Bernard joined us for dinner, and he and R were reminiscing about past family events and their life on Guernsey. While we were talking, Laura called us, so she was part of the conversation for a while.
