Not a Rose

I always thought that this plant is a rose. In German it is called Stockrose, in Dutch stokroos, in Swedish stockros, and so on.
But no, quite misleading, isn't it?
A hollyhock (or Latin: Alcea rosea) is a lovely plant with beautiful blossoms, no doubt. It's just no rose.
