A day in the life

Glassface

"Vida"-museum is situated in the middle part of the island. It's always been closed when I thought of going there, but today was different. It's a museum, or gallery, with temporary exhibitions of various Swedish artists, the present ones were photos from New York during 1973-76, two women working in textile shapes and one female painter.

I was mainly there to see the permanent exhibitions of two local artists; Bertil Vallien  and Ulrica Hydman-Vallien a married couple working close together, he, mostly working in glass sculpture, she, in painting and ceramics. She died a couple of years ago and they have both been part of the permanent exhibition since then. He is still working and are known all over the world. I love his glass-faces, full of symbolism, very colourful and beautiful. The extra is one of his faces from the front and from the back.
