Rest and Recharge Weekend
Sorry for my absence from Blip, I have been struggling with my fibromyalgia all week and a lot of pushing through and pacing has occurred…
Friday night, I had a rare night out with two of my best friends, Irene and Catherine. We went to the Behavin’ Open Mic Night at The Stove in Dumfries High Street, we had a wonderful night in spite of all our chronic health issues (pic in extras of my friend Catherine and I).
This weekend, I have had a rest and recharge weekend and have spent the majority of the weekend resting, pacing and recharging, most of it in bed or seated.
This evening, I got just under 5,000 steps in for my paced walking July challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK (breast cancer).
My apologies that I forgot to record Friday’s steps due to fibro and JHS chronic fatigue and pain.
Thanks to everyone who has supported my endeavour thus far, you are all very much appreciated :)
One of my best friends and former work colleagues is battling breast cancer at present and your support means much more than you will ever know.
Undertaking the paced walking challenge has helped me feel less helpful and like I’m making a positive difference despite my chronic conditions.
I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. My steps are in the extras and today’s Blip is of me this evening on my paced walk, enjoying some sunshine and gentle exercise after a weekend spent mostly in bed and chair.
Here is the link to my fundraiser if you would like to support me in my personal challenge and Cancer Research UK in their work to support those affected by breast cancer:
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. Due to having fibromyalgia and joint hypermobility syndrome, I will undertake this challenge by doing paced walking (with mobility aids as necessary). I am a chronic asthma warrior too.
I plan to undertake a paced walking challenge throughout July 2024 for breast cancer research for all those living with the disease. This is for you and for all those no longer with us.
I have lost many friends and family to different cancers (oesophageal cancer, stomach cancer, bowel cancer and breast cancer) and my Mum is a Stage 2 breast cancer survivor thanks to advances in screening, treatments and research.
