Day 33 Baamonde to Miraz

The rain last night was quite something, I got caught in the first drops on my return from the very minimalist supermarket. It was cool this morning but by the time I’d reached my destination for the day the temperature was back up to 30/31. Walking slowly which I’m very good at, and stopping frequently makes it manageable. My hostel is a little off the Camino so the owners collect you from the nearest village on the route, and drop you off again the morning. The place with just one star is by far the best I’ve stayed on, thick stone walls so the absence of air conditioning isn’t an issue. Best of all is there’s a pilgrim meal at 7.30 which I’m eagerly anticipating.

I saw 2 storks immediately after breakfast and then no more. Just a few pilgrims although I suspect more will appear at dinner this evening.

Extra is the wonderful hostel.
