Grass cutting

It's been a strange summer for the garden, and our gardening. It started with us being away for 6 weeks and the garden running rather wild. When we did get back to the very long grass our main lawnmower struggled to hack through the jungle and then seemed to die.
Today I tried to repair our 2nd lawnmower. I replaced the starter cord, something I've never done before. It took me about 90 minutes longer than it would have taken an expert, but everyone has to start somewhere!
Then it wouldn't start anyway! Eventually I did get it going but the motor was surging and dying back all the time. It didn't sound good, but it did cut the grass, as my blip shows.
We were also preparing for Urkult, the local music festival. The van is loaded with water and food. The beds are made up. Clothes are packed. We are doing the 2 hour drive there tomorrow and the festival starts on Thursday. That feels the relaxing way to do things, which is good as I'm feeling fairly tired just now.
Soon to bed...
