"When it's brown it's burnt ...
....when it's black it's buggered". Bubble n' squeak needs to be medium to well done in my opinion, must have sprouts in the mix too. This hit the spot with the fatty orts from Sunday's roast beef, got to have fat for flavour, whatever the meat. Hubby not a fan of fatty meat so he had buggered up/very crispy streaky bacon.
After breakfast this morning I spent a little time studying how to make a handtied bouquet on Youtube. Then I rustled up a handtied. It helps when you have fabulous flowers to start with. I got the thumbs up from Sara-Jane when I sent her a pic for her perusal.
Went to the allotment, picked peas, runner beans, spinach, courgettes, beetroot, lettuce, & spring onions. Josie was bringing Milly Molly Moo, (her poodle cross beagle puppy) to Mum's this morning for coffee, so wanted to give her some veggies from the plot. Shirley arrived on the plot " You're late this morning", her second visit to the plot this time with hubby Richard. I explained I'd been creating a handtied masterpiece LOL!!. She then returned a little later. "I've put a bunch of sweetpeas under your windscreen wiper". Which reminds me of another saying, not Devonian this time :-) "Don't expect to receive if you're not willing to give" ..... Another quote "Karma is very simple ... You get what you give", & I'm a great believer of that.
So Sara-Jane also brought me a bunch of sweetpeas which I gave to Mum, & Josie got the sweetpeas that Shirley gave me along with a box of plot pickings. Josie was also a florist working for me at Fermoys.
I made Mum a lovely ham salad with new potatoes. The new potatoes grown in a tub in Mum's back garden. :-) Got the tv on BBC1 for the Olympics then headed home.
Made lunch for hubby & myself, then sat & watched the Olympics. Some great viewing.
Made a big pot of Spag Bol sauce with the minced (not yucky ground supermarket) beef bought from the butcher. Very tasty & not expensive. His beef is exceptional.
Prepped the veg for the B&S .. Tray dinner while watching the games.
