Edinburgh skyline view from the W
This evening Mr hazelh and I discovered a way to see the Edinburgh skyline without the eyesore of the W hotel. You take the lift up the twelve floors to the bar on the roof top of the hotel building and order drinks on the terrace. The views from there are superb, especially on a clear, warm, summer's evening.
The W hotel as a venue for our pre-dinner drinks was not our first choice. We had intended to sample the wares of a new rum bar on Broughton Street, but it was closed to the public for a private tasting event this evening.
After our drinks we ate at Yes, Sushi on Hanover Street. Paddy and Caitlin kindly kept Mummy hazelh company while we were out.
I'm still chasing my tail with admin. I managed to squeeze a little into a busy day that also included a trip to the gym for strength training with Joe (Marc is on holiday), taking Mummy hazelh to the doctor, and a wander in the sunshine with Mr hazelh this afternoon. The latter included calling into the Bethany shop on Leith Walk and the £35 purchase of a (brand new?) Jamieson black and white Fair Isle design Shetland wool jumper for Mr hazelh (RRP £155).
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; strength training class; walking (23,825 steps).
