Above clouds & under water

A steep drive up a mountain - so steep that one of the cars overheated a couple of times and a few of us got out to walk to help. That’s not happened to me for years! Boy! Intense heat, tarmac and a road that felt almost vertical.

Anyway, we made it. We replenished our water bottles and headed further up on foot, with waterfalls in mind. It was a beautiful and up and down trek, led by WelshMan and Dot.T and it was glorious. 800m of it was in a pitch dark tunnel through a mountain. Wonderful acoustics for a family sing song.

When we eventually got to the waterfall, there were crowds there, sharing picnics and taking photos. But no one was swimming. After a brief hesitation, we stripped down to swimming things and got in. It was mighty cold but thrilling. We couldn’t be in the water for long as feet, hands and head throbbed with the cold.

The great thing was that then others started to strip to swim too. What a fab thing to encourage others in.

A lengthy walk back down and everyone was desperate for a MacD’s, so that’s what we did for a late afternoon lunch.

Getting home, and after a pool swim to cool down, a few of us headed off for a proper supermarket shop which had its tricky points … including finding it because it was underground, under a shopping mall.

SkyeMan cooked gorgeous fajitas and basically, it was a fabulous day and we’re all tired out.

I’ll add some extras.
