Dogfight!

Early morning at the allotment, then down to Ocean Terminal to get the messages.

Stood and watched the terns for a while, having been reminded of going down a few weekends ago with John v d G.
The wee terns (Sterna hirunda) are really fierce defending their chicks; any gull (this is Larus fuscus) that flies over is seen off in no uncertain fashion, even if it is twice the size and four times the weight of the tern...I've even seen them attacking swans!
