"Me?"

This morning began a great household tidy and clean, but there is also a backlog of maintenance. Since our door bell failed a couple of years ago, we've been relying on Django barking if anyone knocks on the front door. He's actually very reliable, even barking when post comes through the letterbox. Hence I headed off to Screwfix to get a new wireless doorbell. After fitting that, I decided that I could nip off to Bonnyrigg to see the first game of the season for the "Rosie Posie".

It was a good game, with Rose overcoming a shaky start against Peterhead to threaten in the second half. Then, with 15 minutes to play, on came Bonnyrigg's local hero, Keiren McGachie. He's a very well built centre-forward, who is bigger than he was in his prime, and when he went into a hard challenge with a slight Peterhead player it wasn't pretty. Despite pleasing his innocence, he was given a yellow card. Things soon got worse: Peterhead scored after 91 minutes, and a Bonnyrigg player got a straight red card for a dangerous foul five minutes later.

After the game I attempted to run back home along the old railway, but after 3.5km slightly uphill at 5:20 pace I was far too hot. However after walking a kilometre, I'd cooled off and ran down the slight gradient for a couple of kilometres at a better pace.
