No 9, Winston Churchill

Propels Southern Maid towards the engine shed at New Romney on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

The traditional tea stop on our Romney Marsh Ramblings cycle ride from West Hythe to Ivychurch, New Romney and back along the 7 mile prom to our starting point.

West Hythe is the home of craft brewer Unit 1, the products of which we sampled at the end of the ride. We also enjoyed a coffee there before we started.

In between were 32 miles of flat cycling around the Marsh villages. Not easy as it might appear aa around 75% of the time we were cycling into a determined south westerly breeze.

The last section however, was along the prom with the wind behind…. What wind? If you turned around then you’d notice it. Susan makes it look easy in the extra.
