Barbecue

We took a quick walk up to Wimbledon Village, stopping at Raynes Park Costa Coffee to pick up a drink. It turned out to be a four-mile walk. On the way back through Wimbledon, we paused at the health food shop, where I bought some things I thought would be interesting to add to salads during the week ahead. I wonder what turmeric sauerkraut will be like? Then, there was another shop at Sainsbury's for some more regular items that we'll have tonight and for lunch in the week.

Once home, PY went into the eaves to retrieve the barbecue. We haven't had it out all year, and as the weather was good, we decided to get some use out of it. It's a mini gas-powered unit that's been fantastic, but it is a bit heavy to move around. When it's just the two of us, we often decide to grill in the kitchen and eat outside. So, today, we agreed we'd do it properly and use the barbecue to grill some burgers that were the freezer. We did use the kitchen the oven for the sweet potato fries and cabbage, but it all worked well. Even the buns we'd pulled from the back of the freezer yesterday (and were really hot dog rolls and the wrong shape for burgers) held together well.
