I was awake at 4 but I waited for more light to come up before I drove off to Tranquille about 5:30. 

I drove along the base of my hill heading west and soon discovered three bad boys munching their way along the roadside. I stopped close to the big horns and got some shots of them. I'd rolled my window down and talked to them but they couldn't care less. They were very eager to eat all the greens they could find. I don't imagine there's much fresh vegetation for them on the hillsides with the heat we've been having. 

I drove on to get a shot of Tranquille Farm looking across the wetlands pond. A line of freight cars were strung out along the tracks with the big engine at the front sitting with its motor idling. No humans could be seen. 

I looked east across the pond to see the tops of my mountains. The sun wasn't filling the valley yet and the smoke in the air made the sky pink. 

I stopped to view the osprey nest. They are a family of four. I watched the young ones having breakfast. I presume they were tearing up a fish. They were having quite a conversation. 

I arrived at my grocery store too early so I had to wait half an hour for the doors to open. I picked up my breakfast and was home before 7:30.

The plumber did an excellent job yesterday, so he's done for now. Our handyman will be back. He finished a set of cupboards and will move on to other tasks today. I will have some lunch ready for him.
