Life through the lens...

Patchwork landscape.

We have had a great day.
A bit cooler and a few light showers but that didn’t spoil our trip up to Cleveland.
This is one of my favourite views from Lord Stones at the top of Carlton Bank.
The light wasn’t good for photography as it was dull and overcast.
From here you can see Roseberry Topping peeping up on the right.
In the far distance is Teeside.
First extra is the transporter bridge in Middlesbrough. Really had to zoom.in on this and crop it so not a good pic. Same with the
Second extra. This is the new industry which is now growing up on the sight of the flattened steel works.
You can see an oil platform on the left which is being dismantled, and on the right some absolutely huge stainless steel tanks being built. You can tell how big they are as the blocks of flats in front look tiny.
Not sure what they are for but NZT Power are building the world’s first commercial scale gas-fired power station, with carbon capture and storage capability.

Third extra is a view of the heather which is not quite fully out yet. Also some beautiful blue hair bells.

Before our walk we enjoyed some of Petches pork pies which we bought in Great Ayton. Absolutely the best!

Then on the way home we called at my favourite gift/ craft shop in Topcliffe.
Haven’t seen Liz for twelve months and so had a good catchup. Also bought a couple of things.
Picked some damsons which were growing by the river. Hope I have plenty of sugar!

We have just watched the 400m and Matthew Hudson-Smith get a silver medal. Really thought he was going to win. Obviously didn’t hear  us shouting him on!
Still a good end to our day.
