Petrolhead Heaven

My 17-55mm wide-angle lens developed a fault a while ago. I thought about getting it repaired or replacing it. Both quite expensive. Clever Luke at Photosound said that as long as I use f2.8 it should work OK.

The Layer Marney Cup fuel trial run, which I have joined when we still had our Triumph TR4, stopped for lunch at The Gibberd Garden, which is quite near here. I took the Honda S2000 and asked Shelia Charrington the organiser if I could take photographs of the entrants' cars. She was fine with it and a man having lunch with her said I could snap his silver Rolls Royce.

I really enjoyed using my 17-55 for a change and meeting and chatting with petrolheads. People were so friendly. A young Honda S2000 owner, who my daughter and I met on a previous run, was there with a friend in his Mazda RX7. He was working for McLaren but now has his own detailing business.

My favourite, as in past years, was a Bugatti. The Type 51 is in my main image. The owner still has the same, great, mad hair but on the run in 2015 he was driving a Type 59 Bugatti. I think the car in my second extra is a Type 44 Bugatti. My first extra is a Vauxhall 30-98.

PS Spot lovely Luna dog reflected in the front of the Rolls Royce in my third extra image.
