Coiled Spring

I started the day with a few hours in the garden while everyone slept.  I was listening to an audio book (Go as a River) until my headphones ran out of battery.  I wasn't sure about the book to start with but have warmed to it as it has gone along.

We had planned on a beach trip (to arrive early afternoon after looking at tide times) but the morning dragged and I was like a coiled spring.  I have a big knot in my stomach all the time and don't know how to deal with it.  Day at a time I suppose, following my mantra over the last almost two years.  I had a quick call with my sister K which always helps but around 1.00 the car was loaded, picnic made (although we had planned a late brunch at home rather than picnic, so it was rather sparse?).  The beach was lovely, the sound of the waves soporific and No.1 and JC went out on the paddle boards and it was a nice afternoon.  Fish and Chips (twice in two weeks) was ok but there was nowhere to sit and seeing happy couples wandering around Rye, soaking up the sun, chatting 19 to the dozen made me sad.  Home for showers and JC headed off to Bucks as he is back to work next week and commuting from Kent is time consuming and ££.

Day done.
