THE PEAS ARE ALMOST FINISHED...
…but it’s fair to say that we have beans “coming out of our ears!”
As usual, Mr. HCB was up early and out watering the plants before the sun came up, so when I popped downstairs having had my shower, and of course, wearing my pink robe, he was sitting in the garden having his breakfast. The good thing about hearing aids is that you can have the radio “in your ears” wherever you happen to be.
I realised when Mr. HCB walked into the kitchen while I was getting my breakfast that I could not take part in the Mono Monday challenge, because what he brought in was so colourful. You can see mange tout peas, French climbing beans, runner beans, autumn-fruiting raspberries and a small cucumber. Sadly the tomatoes have not performed well this year! ;-(
I think we need to have a chicken and bean stirfry for our evening meal, followed by a fruit salad with our own lovely, plump raspberries!
It is already 30 in the garden, where I’ve just had my breakfast but I don’t think I will be able to stay out here for too much longer!
Stay cool and remember the cream, sun hat and sunnies if you go out! M xx
