Burgh Island

I am staying for the weekend with friends at their caravan, which is just around the corner from Burgh Island in south Devon. High tide cuts the island off from the mainland, but it’s still accessible via the vehicle in the image. The hotel on the island, which is known for its art deco interior (and is an upmarket kind of place), owns most of the island.

The image is about as clear as the weather got. An extensive sea fret cloaked everything in mist for much of the day (extra). We walked around Burgh Island, up the Avon estuary, and later walked the tidal road further up from Aveton Gifford before a visit to Kingsbridge. A good day.
