Waiting for the musicians

A short programme at St Marys by Acquillos Winds, who were
Flute... Barbara Richerby; Oboe... Chris Crosby; Clarinet.. John Peacock; Horn... Ian Kille; Bassoon... Barbara Crosby

Mother Goose Suite..... M. Ravel (1875 – 1937) arr. Linckelmann
Rhapsody in Blue......... G. Gershwin (1898 – 1937) arr. Linckelmann

The sound recording gear was out; first time it's been in place at one of these lunchtime events. Only one instrument each, so not such a place filling sound as the wind band last week. The Gershwin arrangement is a glorious thing, precisely and enthusiastically played.

From there back to the New Town, then a 23 bus to Fountainbridge. Walked through by the canal and the flat where we stayed when we first moved from California in Moda; there's an entire new block of several hundred flats there all built since we moved out.

Back by the cathedral again. The threatened rain didn't happen until a shower later in the evening, though there was a gusty West wind.
