Street Lamp

Today's the day ..................... to commemorate 

'To Commemorate the bi-centenary of Robert Burns' death.
The glass panels in the lamp were installed by Kirkcudbright 
Burns Clubs on 21st July 1996.'  

So reads the plaque at the base of this rather fine street lamp, just off St Cuthbert Street next to the Harbour Square in Kirkcudbright.  The panels have Burns-related images etched on to them, including the 'wee sleekit cow'rin tim'rous beastie'  from his famous poem 'To a Mouse'.

Not quite sure how the boots got there - or what their significance to Rabbie may, or may not, be .........................
