Seriously?

A tale of tails

At around 40ºc with a hot breeze like a hairdryer, poor Rufus had to wait until nearly 18.00 before going outside.  We strolled along the sea front but honestly, it was still too hot at 34ºC, so we went to Sahara restaurant where I changed my holiday read book (the 'give one/take one' book exchange that many places have here) and then sat in the shade with a beer for me and water for him while I started my "new" book. (Virginia Ironside: "No!I don't want toon a bookclub - a diary growing old disgracefully".) which promises to be an enjoyable  lighthearted summer read.

TBH even in the shade it was too hot at gone 18.30 when we started to walk home so I changed my mind and we stopped further along the sea front at Paşa for a salad (and another beer/bowl of water) after which, at nearly 8pm , the temp was ok for Rufus to enjoy walking about.. In the photo you can see the end 3 inches of tail that was so badly damaged but already the fur is starting to grow back now (after shaving and treatment over the last couple of weeks) - though it's going to be a  while before it's as splendid as the rest of his waggy tail , which got lots and lots of exercise as we strolled home.where upon I jumped in the pool to cool off. Rufus hates water so he had a snack and sat by the pool's edge to keep an eye.
