Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR went to the opera last night, a ‘modern take’ on The Marriage of Figaro’. The review? It was very very… LONG!

I have been searching everywhere to view Season 2 of ‘The Twelve’, with no luck, only Season 1 available. But then last night I spotted it, on the STV player! So I watched the first episode while JR was out. I like Sam Neil. And I like Aussie dramas.

Today, Archie and I happened to pass the pea shop… yes, another bag was procured. I don’t think I’ve EVER had such a prolific pea season! Fabulous!

Today we walked across to visit the Graduate Degree Show at the Art College. This was MUCH better than the usual, underwhelming show in June - they were all talented, and had obviously put in a lot of work. There was so much to see, we may have to go back. I LOVE those art rooms with the HUGE windows and views of the castle. Lucky students.

Popped in to Soderberg for a pastry and a coffee, before popping (we do a lot of popping!) in to the Book Festival, mainly to have a look around the venue, which is in the brand new ‘Futures’ building - the old Infirmary with a new lease of life!

We took the lift up to the 4th Floor, nothing to do with the Book Festival, just being nosy. There was a private meeting about to happen, but we had a look out from the balcony, over to the fantastic, Victorian Gothic George Heriot’s School. What a venue for a private function!!

Back home, very tired (8,187 steps) and JR caught up with Episode 1 of The Twelve, so now we can ignore all the crap on the tv and binge on this.
