Ben Hope

After a busy day yesterday, I was in bed at Aviemore Youth Hostel quite early only to be woken just before midnight by a fire alarm. Everyone out to the car park. Better save than sorry!

This morning, I checked out and headed up the road for the Aviemore Parkrun event. A nice event with a friendly bunch of locals and volunteers. I met a guy I know from Edinburgh, small world.

My Aboyne mate Andy, arrived afterwards and after a bacon roll and coffee, we drove last weeks aborted journey to the most northerly Munro in Scotland, Ben Hope.

It took us just over 4 hours car to car.

I then drove Andy back to Aviemore before the long drive home, getting in for 11:30pm just in time for a beer, whisky and Match of the Day.
