Free Fallin’

Up at very silly o’clock this morning, as I’d decided on the spur of the moment last night to do a car boot sale this morning. The forecast was for it to stay dry but there was still a good deal of cloud around. Decided against the A6 site as it can be a bit boggy underfoot and went to Flookburgh instead. As the site is on the edge of the airfield, there is plenty of hardstanding for all. It wasn’t that busy, but there was a constant flow of punters for most of the morning. As there was low cloud and quite a strong wind, I’d assumed there would be no parachute jumps today, so was quite surprised to see the plane take off. Twenty minutes or so later and parachutists (those tiny dots at the top of the photo!) started appearing from the clouds like something out of Harry Potter! They all landed safely in the end but, I suspect they hadn’t expected the cloud over the airfield to be quite so low, as no more flights took place for the rest of the morning.
I came away with a few extra pounds in my pocket and - more importantly - two empty boxes. Continuing in the vein of “what can I do to occupy myself whilst Mrs C is (still) away” I have had a productive afternoon doing the ironing and mowing the lawns.
Starting to feel a bit tired now so I think it’s going to be an early tea followed by falling asleep in front of the telly. Hopefully I’ll wake up in time to have an early night!
