Day at a Time

Grobust

It was pretty wet overnight. We managed a brief stroll in the evening after demolishing our haddock suppers fresh from Pierowall Fish which opens a chippy on Wednesday and Saturday. This trip has been meticulously planned not to miss any delights. After the stroll we read in the comfortable B&B. The weather was wild.

It's still wildly windy today but the rain has gone. We went out for a bracing walk to Grobust beach and took a couple of hours to do the circuit because walking into the wind was an effort. The main is the waves breaking on the beach. The extra is another collage - smiling seal, beautiful dry stone work, pretty eyebright and Noup Head lighthouse in the distance.

Back in Pierowall we stopped at the Groatie Buckie cafe for coffee and other sustenance. We'll walk back along the beach so I can have a look for treasure. I've collected a bit already. I can't help myself.

Tonight - a treat. We're eating at the hotel. It's very low key but the food is always fresh as can be. And by then I believe the wind is going to drop which will make walking a lot easier.
