Thursday: Pink Roses

It was a wild night last night thanks to hurricane Ernesto  - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Ernesto_(2024) - when it got light we could see leaves covering our paths and drive, especially from the Cordyline!

By mid-morning the wind was calming down, the rain had stopped, I was able to walk down the path to water the tomato plants in the greenhouse using a hose from the small water butt collecting water from the roof of the big shed. Tied up the foliage of the Jerusalem artichokes, they’ve been growing in their tub for many years but I’ve never got round to eating them!

Having complained about last night’s storm, I’ve just read there’s going to be another one tonight/tomorrow morning … urrrrgh … Storm Lilian, I might have to go to bed extra early before the storm starts :-(((

Today’s roses look very similar but they have individual perfumes - both delicious, the single rose has a very smooth stem with a few thorns, the other rose has a thinner stem which is covered with quite small thorns, packed tightly together covering most of the stem.

Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
