A taste of things to come

I have not seen the nuthatches a ll summer but for the last week they  have been visiting the feeders. I see them mostly in winter and early spring, except for catching them occasionally on the apple tree. 
Technically we are still in summer so there were butterflies ( least and Peck's skippers , cabbage whites and occasional LOB's( little orange butterflies otherwise unidentified by yours truly). Hummingbird wars are still on as they tank up in preparation for migration.. And I am still deadheading flowers and weeding , so it still is summer!
