The Bees Knees

I love the bright orange pollen sacks on this bumbles knees - adds a lovely spot of color and character.  The flower is native goldenrod, a favorite of bees and wasps in the late summer months.

We have had a quiet day, most of it spent out on the deck, just Hubs, Peg and I.  After lunch, I went to lie down for a bit and Peg took care of some of the things that need to be done before the service and had a nice long talk with her sister.  

We are going to pick up a simple rotisserie chicken for dinner and have some roasted veggies and a salad with it.  Maybe we will dine on the deck - it's just beautiful outside.
