River of Flowers

Monday: Bramley Cooking Apples …

… and a very exhausted bee (maybe a Carder Bee?).

Another chilly morning, 14°C and breezy. There were spots of rain on the windows when we got up but it soon cleared. I put some washing on, MrD went to mow the lawn.

I’d started cutting back this year’s fruiting raspberry canes a couple of days back and finished that job this morning. Cleared all the fallen leaves from the concrete paths - then a young blackbird discovered what I’d been doing and took it as an excuse to “forage” where I’d cleared a lot of the garden soil. MrD continued the clearing and cut the turf along the edges of the concrete paths, the Robin came to investigate and found some tasty snacks too! :-)

I pricked out and potted on my veggie seedlings from Friday: Jersey Walking Stick kale and Wild Sea Cabbage, they’ve joined the other cabbages in the large clear plastic storage container.

After all this activity I was getting tired so I had an afternoon of watching more episodes of “Death in Paradise” I may have nodded off too … exactly what you do on a grey Bank Holiday :-))

Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
