SPOT THE OLD WRECK!!!

Today was supposed to be a sad farewell to our Dear Bernard who has been a corner stone of our church for many decades. Sadly his move to Somerset has been postponed and now he has Covid!!!! New date to be set.

In June 1980…The Rev thought our first date should be at the Banger racing in Wimbledon. I was all dressed up for a meal/cinema but no a dirty race track!!! He did remove a car seat so I could sit on that instead of the floor!!!
Anyway today we revisited the experience. It was a beautiful day and we had to seat ourselves hugging the shade of others gazebos. The Rev took lots of photos we ate junk food and read in between races. The dust was ridiculous. We were filthy by the end of it but it was great fun.
