DRUZY PENDANT
The Tiny Tuesday challenge is mineral/crystal. This druzy pendant was made by my daughter Becky a few years ago when she made a lot of jewellery and sold it on the Etsy site. Thanks to McCaviti for hosting the challenge.
Druzy (also spelled druse or drusy) is a layer of tiny sparkling crystals that form on the surface of a rock or mineral. These crystal clusters appear as a glittery sugar - like coating and can be formed by many different minerals. The mineral species and shapes of crystals formed are dependent on fluid composition. The one I have blipped is an Amethyst Druzy.
I made a slow start to the day and had a lazy time until around 3.30pm when I walked down to the village. The weather was lovely - warm and sunny. Did some food shopping and picked up 2 parcels at Tesco.
Back home to sit for a while with a nice cup of coffee and a slimming choccy bar.
Neil was messaging me about the cricket - he was watching the T20 match - Surrey V Durham at The Oval ( Surrey won by 5 wickets unfortunately ) He was reminiscing about the times he and I used to go to The Oval to watch the Test Matches - when he was a teenager. We went quite a few times over the years on special coach trips from Newcastle. We saw some great players and teams. Also included in the tours was a look around Lords cricket ground ( on a non match day ) --- very interesting. We always had great fun. Whilst watching the cricket Neil used to have his scorebook handy and he used to score the match. He enjoyed scoring and when he wasn't playing for our local village team he used to do the scores in the scorebox. He's lucky that his present job involves cricket so he's doing something he enjoys.
