Hedging Our Bets

The annual hedge-cutting operation began today. Mr Flum insists on waiting until September as it won't need to be cut again until next year but the length cut off seems longer than usual. 

I noticed the dunnocks quicky returning but they're probably miffed at the absence of their front door.
