Tin Tabernacles of 2024 #22

The former Catholic church in Aberfeldy, Our Lady of Mercy, was relocated to the nearby village of Dull in 2004. Dull is twinned with Boring, Oregon and Bland in New South Wales is also a member of the League of Extraordinary Communities established by Boring and Dull in 2013.

The church has been beautifully restored and it looked pretty swish inside from what I could see. It's a holiday home now.

Sadly the United Free Church, also a tin kirk, seems to have been demolished. I found its former location in Aberfeldy but the site has been redeveloped. We made the most of being in the town and had an al fresco coffee.

We had been going to make a tabernacle trip to Fife today but looking at the forecast I thought  haar might have been a problem on the east coast. We stopped for a walk in Killin today, the location of the first tin tabernacle of 2024, and it was a sweltering 24°. We had a lovely walk by Loch Tay and enjoyed watching the kayakers, paddle boarders, swimmers, paddlers and sunbathers. Fife can wait for another day.

The weather really is beautiful. I'm off to the garden.
