A hole in the roof
Last night, after the old Velux window had been removed, the hole left in the roof was covered with a tarpaulin. The morning started damp but all was well and by late morning it was sunny and bright so there was an even bigger hole in the roof!
This will be a double Velux and will eventually be Eda’s room.
Eda went to school looking a bit less pink than yesterday and Jude is at pre school today. Grace was having a rest as she sprained her ankle in the tech rehearsal last night. She was then off to the dress rehearsal this afternoon.
I decided to take myself off to Larkhall to get some fresh air and exercise. I took the patchwork piece finished yesterday to post and got myself a coffee and some lunch at the little French cafe in the village.
Had a look around the charity shop but found nothing and then walked back up the hill passing this old building on Bailbrook Lane.
As you can see it says Bailbrook Sunday school but it was also used as a general day school for a while. It is lived in and the people here are the neighbours that brought Eda home on Friday. I have been inside and the main area is a large living room that goes right up to the roof with a kitchen at one end with a mezzanine over it and another mezzanine at the other end, each used as separate offices. The bedrooms are outside in another adjacent building. Certainly unique.
Had the best of the day now and the hole is once more covered up. Set to be fine for a few days but it’s going to be much colder
Next week looks like being warm and sunny again so hopefully the roof work can be completed.
