Grumpy Old Man

Reasonably bright this morning, so I decided at first to walk down to the Corran Halls for the Open Morning, though looking at the sky later I thought it might be wise to accept a lift from Mrs M down to Atlantis Leisure and walk from there. This Open Morning is where the groups have a table each and we welcome new members as well as the Old Time regulars. I'd got roped in as a 'Meeter & Greeter' - we only had four non-members come in and two of those left having told me they hadn't found any group of interest! This was followed by the AGM - when I emerged it had obviously rained hard, but I got home in the dry and took a few pictures on the way.

Had a couple of attempts to sit outside, together with the cats, but each time after five minutes it began to rain, so I eventually gave up!

My Blip today is a single flower of Impatiens niamniamensis, otherwise known as the Parrot Plant or Congo Cockatoo - basically an African Busy Lizzie! It's a native of tropical Africa, so doesn't like to get too chilly! It's happy outdoors at the moment, but will need to put it in the cold greenhouse at some point. My extra is of the complete plant, still fairly small.
