An Unexpected Festival

Today after our usual weekly food shop and customary pint at The Horseshoes we decided to make a quick pit stop in Maidstone for a stroll and the chance to grab an image or two.
We'd just left the car park and were heading down towards the river when my brother thought he could hear some music. So we crossed the footbridge over the river to Lockmeadow to investigate further and were delighted to come across an event which was describing itself as the "Amazing Thailand Festival" celebrating Thai culture, food and music. What an unexpected and lovely surprise with such a plethora of sights, sounds and smells!
My images are all of the wonderful performers who were either up on stage or encouraging and rallying the crowd to get up and dance or sing along to the music and were more than happy to have their pictures taken. Sadly we didn't have time to try the delicious smelling food but as it seems to be a regular event we are definitely going to return and do so in the future.
