Back in the saddle again.....
A bit of a breeze and sunny spells,so sent Kev off down the road to turn 2 fields of wet barley straw. We have had fog and rain every day since last Thursday until yesterday. It comes in off the East coast and lasts for days. Meanwhile the weather further inland and down towards Lauder has seemingly been sunny with folk getting on with harvest.
The sparky turned up to have another go at fixing my grain dryer. He cobbled it together at the end of last season to keep it going, but he's now going to order up ( hopefully) the bits it needs and sort it properly.
I headed off at lunch time to bale the straw Kev had turned while he started carting bales home. It wasn't 100% dry,but it will have to do.
Had it baled by tonight and when I got home it rained !
Hopefully the contractor has got my field of grass I mowed last Wednesday all baled and wrapped in plastic. Hauling it home will be another job to add to the list. Hopefully the crows won't peck holes in the bales before we get them lifted......
