Bottles galore!

We left Macclesfield this morning and had a lovely drive to Bath, using ordinary main roads (rather than motorways) as much as possible: the scenery is better and one avoids the risk of a major tailback should an accident occur. The reason of course is to visit Son#2 and his partner and we took them out for a meal at a super pizza restaurant. The bar in the room we were in had a very impressive array of bottles on the shelves, all beautifully arranged, so they had to be today’s blip! It’s “heritage weekend” in Bath this weekend so tomorrow we’ll be checking out some of the old buildings here.

In between travelling, walking, eating & sightseeing my Editor and I have enjoyed taking some time to look through all the Silly Saturday entries from last weekend. Many thanks to everyone who took part and gave us some good laughs, just like Admirer would have had. I’ve already notified everyone who received a Heart or an Honourable Mention – we couldn’t keep ourselves down to just 5 HMs so we gave 7 and could have given more but we had to stop somewhere!

Hearts (in no particular order) go to:
KangaZu – who went beyond the call of duty to immerse herself in a cold pool for a selfie!
Annie – who came across a brace of bidets (fortunately no-one was using them at the time!)
Jensphotos – her dog Maggy got in a real spin
Crispin25 – he has an amazing new hairstyle
Dollydoug – who showed us her crazy mug!

Honourable Mentions:
Madwill – he came across a surfeit of doors
Ingeborg – a pair of fun, friendly ducks
pkln – for a group of cybermen-like window creatures
Steveng – the man who hates advance Christmas shopping has bought himself a crazy advent calender in very good time, and it even reminds him to take it out of its box before opening the doors - who knew?!
Freuchie – for a very amusing “dog-eared” portrait
Flossie – we really chuckled at these fun soft toys
LincolnWarrior – some fun Morris Dancers

The next hosted Silly Saturday will be on 5th October: if you’d like to host it (it’s really fun!) - or any other first-Saturday-of-a-month – just let me know: thanks!
