A beautiful sunny Autumn day.
First a visit to Caerlaverock, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve.
Always enjoyable. But the staff told us that the poor Summer weather had led to a declone in visitor numbers which resulted in closure of the cafe which used to do soup and sandwiches. Just a coffee machine now. As we knew we were a few weeks too soon for the return of Geese from the Arctic when there are huge numbers of Barnacle Geese.

Then onto RSPB Mersehead Reserve.
Not too much to see and hear but a good walk.
